Seeking Marketing Intern

Stork & Cradle (www.storkandcradle.com) provides childbirth preparation classes taught by experience instructors with the goal of offering holistic and objective information. The business offers private consultation and group classes for new parents (male or female) in the following areas:

- Birthing Preparation

- Breastfeeding class

- Baby care and safety

- Infant CPR training

 
Stork & Cradle is one of the few business in this market led by a founder with deep clinical knowledge. CEO, Tamara Hawkins, has over eleven years experience as an obstetrical clinician. The business has a contractual relationship with Columbia Presbyterian Hospital- one of the largest hospitals in Manhattan.

Classes are held in midtown Manhattan.

Position:

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person with a passion for digital marketing, and an eagerness to learn and apply new techniques and strategies. The intern will be working during an exciting time of the company in which we will be moving into a larger space for our classes and re-launching the website.

We seek a part-time intern to assist with the development and tracking of marketing efforts to increase awareness of the classes offered by Stork & Cradle and drive increased class enrollments. Main focus areas include:

 -promoting the business to digital and print media outlets

- developing strategic partnerships

- strengthening the company's presence on social media sites.

 
This is a great opportunity for a rising professional to gain experience while taking a leadership role in directing marketing campaigns in a captive and growing market. The intern will be doing real work and will receive credit for their work

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Research grants and/or programs that support education programs geared to pregnant and/or breastfeeding mothers
  • Identification and research of potential cross promotional partners
  • Research businesses, clinical providers to partner with to drive more class participants
  • Manage social media promotion with goal to increase number of followers on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media tools to increase registrants to classes.
  • Analyze impact of social media strategies. Performing analysis on website analytics to evaluate impact of digital marketing strategies
  •  Represent the company at promotional & networking events


 

Requirements:

  • Commitment to 16 - 24 dedicated hours per week
  • Rising junior/ college senior or graduate student preferred. Must be able to receive academic credit
  • Position can be remote, but applicant must be able to meet at least 1-2x a week in person in midtown Manhattan
  • At least a three month commitment
  • Interest in healthcare, wellness or women targeted brands
  • Ability to research and initiate creative marketing solutions
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, you will be interacting with clients/partnering companies and organizations
  • Social Media Junkie- Someone with strong user experience/ insight on the use of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social networks
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Search Engine Optimization, Pay-Per-Click and Google Adwords
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects at once, and meet deadlines is key
  • Organized, creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
