Stork and Cradle's director, Tamara Hawkins, brings a broad range of
experience working  as a labor and delivery nurse at high-risk,
high-tech NYC hospitals as well as working as a nurse in the low-tech,
home birth like atmosphere at the former Elizabeth Seton Childbearing
Center (ESCbC). Comparing her experience teaching typical hospital
Lamaze classes and teaching holistic childbirth preparation classes at
ESCbC, there is no doubt that being able to offer women
complementary and alternative options for care in labor enables
women to make better informed decisions, build confidence, and trust
in themselves enough to enjoy their births.

Tamara is  a  Registered Certified Maternity Nurse,Certified Lamaze
Childbirth Educator,
Birthing From Within childbirth mentor, Labor
Support Specialist, American Red Cross CPR instructor,  Certified
Holistic Health Counselor, Internationally Board Certified Lactation
Consultant, and teaches Expecting Multiples classes. She is currently
a maternal child instructor at NYC's #1 maternity hospital as rated by
U.S. News and World Report. She recognized her divine calling to
assist women in and around childbirth and lactation after the birth of
her daughter twelve years ago and has been learning and growing  in
the world of normal birth and healthy living ever since.
